would it be ok to run 300w 6x9 from a HU stating 200w max?..also are jbl GT) 936's good as they are the 1's im lookin at

I had my 6x9's running off standard hu before change hu. Worked ok no probs really, they just sound better with my new hu.

Even though your headunit states 200watt max, thats not what your speakers will be getting.

Each speaker will get 50 watts max each. They will be ok on your headunit but they will be much better run off a seperate amplifier.

i run my 6x9s of my headunit and after about 40mins they sound shit

when speakers say 300w max..does that mean each 300w or the pair 300w
