can you put paint onto plastic primer? is that ok?
or do i need to put plastic primer, primer, then paint?

paint onto plastic primer is fine i did it last night on my M3's make sure you get the right colour primer though

I was up till 1 this morning doing my M3's only got one mirror and base plate done ran out of paint!!!, primer is going on the second when i get home, little tip when touch dry stick the bits ya painted in the oven at a very low temp, 40 derees or so

you use enough coats that your happy with the coverage, no set amount. dont smooth it between coats, the paint still needs too be tacky between layers.

when i did my door handles a bug landed on them when i was laquerin it, couldnt be arsed sandin it so if u look close there is a bug under the laquer, it was a real small one fortunatly!

while ur painting the paint doesnt have to be tacky to take the next coat of paint. ive seen umpteen nos of painters do it. getting dirt in the basecoat and flatting it out with 100 when its touch dry then blowing over next coat. how do u think that the base coat ends up dirt free but the lacquer doesnt? the lacquer doesnt matter so much about coz it can be flatted after but cant flat thro till the basecoat or itll need relacquered.
