i wouldn't bother with a 1.4 16v into a 1.2 16v mate.

go for the 1.6....

i've got a 1.4 16v and me bro has a 1.216v and there isn't a great deal init, i go up hills a bit better, but that's about it tbh..... obviously mines quicker overall, but if you look at the ingear times for each engine there's about half a second in it...

Just buy an sri/sport.

Its pointless to convert engines when you can just buy a car with it already done. Cars with conversions are harder to insure, harder to sell on, and are usually more expensive than just selling your car and buying the equivalent with the larger engine.

You will have most if not all of the same problems as Rob. If yours has EPS you will have to change or get around that and you need power steering with your 17s. The fuse boxes are different and the wires going to them. You will need a different throttle cable. 1.4 or 1.6 16V Rad The brake servo vacuum hose is different. Why dont you just buy an SRi or 1.4 Sport?

u shudnt have to touch ur fuse box, and u can use ur throttle cable. As gary said vacuum pipe is different but u can use whicheva one u want aslong as it fits.

well why has mine been such a pain :-( I know the 1200 16v throttle cable will fit the 1400 lump, just where my loom is, well, all the places where my loom was,I cudnt get it to mate up to the engine, CRB 553 wot car was ur lump out of? Im beginning ot think that if I had a sport engine from a closer year to mine rather than an older c16xe it wouldve maybe plugged straight in?
