Could neone please help me? reacantly my corsa has lost power when you accelorate, the engine still revs but the speed never seems to go up. Ive checked the inlet manifold and can,t see a blockage. My brakes aren't stuck on either. Ive been told that the cat could have popped and emptyed itself down the exhaust. Has ne one ever heared or had this happen to them, as i dont know wat it could be????

if your clutch has just been replaced, check to make sure the clutch cable doesn't need adjusting, or when it was done an oil seal or something wasn't buggered up - take it back to the garage which did it if it was done recently, they should sort it out for you under the guarentee

Fitted the clutch myself with a mate, its been fine up until now and the car has been put through its paces on a few occasions. Its just happened today as i left work! Thought it might hav been because i was running low on fuel, but the injecters still sound fine!

even so if the engine is revving but you dont get any faster, its going to be nothing to do with fuelling or anything, but more than likely the clutch or associated parts - it could be fowled with oil i'd still check it if i was you

if the engine is revin then there is fuel an air goin to it, so the problem must be on the clutch or somehwere gear box side of engine, but ud be hearin nasty noises if it was gear box, id check the clutch, sounds like its most likely this

If your RPM increases without the mph then it has to be the clutch or gearbox.
Id try re-adjusting the clutch cable, there shouldn't be any tension in the cable when the pedal is up.

yeh sounds like clutch...
the old test for testing if your clutch is gone is to drive in 2nd gear and change to 4th - and floor it... if the revs are freely going up and down and your not going any faster - your clutch is slipping...
if yours is doing this all the time - it's most definately not right...
you sure you did everything right when fitting your new clutch?

hmmmm very strange.
its definately the clutch/gb side of things.
and that u've mentioned ur biting point is high up, so the clutch cable should be fine.
u might to recheck the clutch.
let us know what was at fault when u find out.

I would also say its the clutch, seen as you fitted it yourself are you sure you have done it right??
It might be an idea to nip it to a decent garage (not Vauxhall) and ask them if they can have a quick look.
