Is it a vauxhall immobiliser, or was it fitted after the car was bought from vauxhall?
You need a certificate for your alarm/immob saying that a Thatcham Cat 1 alarm/immob has been fitted to your car, it will say which company fitted it, when, what make and model the alarm/immob is. The insurance company ask for this as proof that you have it you see.
A good alarm company should be able to advise you of what to get, can your insurance company not give you a list of which alarms they approve??

I would go for a clifford concept 300 alarm & immob. Although you already have an immobiliser, this will act as a second one. Good alarm, about £350 fitted. You can add stuff like remote start and total closure aswell at a later date if u want it.
Hope this helps

Tesco don't give reductions for increased security .... Well, at least they don't for me
Also, The alarm's on the Vectra's are pretty good for what they do. They remote deadlock the doors/boot/filler cap, have door/boot/bonnet protection, aswell as good ultrasonics inside the car. Only thing they dont have is shock/tilt sensors, but then if you only want something thats cheap and will do its job, they wont have those anyway.
Maybe contact Vauxhall about possibly adding a tilt sensor to the standard alarm?

They would also tilt your car loading it onto a trailer to nick it, they usually cut the handbrake cable so they can roll the car, i always leave mine in gear as i've heard that's what they do.
