had to get up at 4am today, wake my dad upto to drvive me the half hour drive to work because my cars in the garage.
get to work after ive been there 20 mins and just bein totally ignored i asked the new "team leader" where he wants me with in the warehouse ,to which he replies. sorry your cintract has been terminated...
last week i was off sick due to an infection in my foot which meant i could not work, i rang up the HR department and told them that i was doubtful to be back for at least a week due to this infection.
but they reckon i said i would be back last weds/thurs which i know i never!
they then said they tried to contact me, but couldnt. This is also not true cos if they had contacted me they should have left a message on the answer phone, which is always left on!
so i had to ring my dad to come and pick me up again!
and he has work to go to.
im pissed off due to the fact ive traveled over 100 miles to get to and from work today, i start at 6 was home again by 7!
if they had terminated my contract, then they should have informed me of this.
i feel ive been treated badly and it was a very harsh decision, so i WILL be appealing.
Rant over.
andy.
Ps. if theres any work going in the essex area then please U2U me!

that just sucks m8
yea know what ya mean bout ringing in, your spose to ring in everyday that you don't go in..well... at least the companies that I have worked for.... but u would of thought common sense should be used, i.e. you tell them u ain't gonna be in for x amount of days, then they should expect it. unfortunately, common sense does not exist
when u started, did u have a probationary period? 1 week? 1 month? 3 months? if so, they prolly have a get out clause to sack you within that period, and they can make up any excuse they want
it does sound like they are being very harsh, provided that was the only time you've been off the 3 weeks you've been there, n u have a doctors note recommending you be off, then appeal it.
if u do, then get a witness in there, and get everything that is said written down, as no doubt they will do the same. so that it can be used if it goes any further.

I would check up on your rights if I was you.
What reason did they terminate your contract? They can't for illness...

With a contract of employment, you need a verbal warning, 3 written warnings, after the third an investigation, before any dismissal can take place. Or that is my belief going by what my sister states (lawyer specialising contract/employment law)
