No the silver one follows the entire silver sony range of everything. It should have been silver to start off with.

Plus it is designed to play DVD-R/DVD-RW/DVD+R/DVD+RW, it has an infrared reciever built in, an updated bios and a 75% quiter fan.

the reason I never got a PS" to start with was cos it looked ugly.
