Forgot to add, one of the connectors on engine bay sensor loom was faulty,
I asked dealer how much for new plug, they refused to sell me one said
I'd have to buy the whole loom segment costing ... wait for it... 200 quid!!!!!
Just for one fucking 2-PIN plug (engine coolant sensor).
So I got a plug for 10p off a mashed car at the scrappy and crimped it
onto my loom, works fine.
YESSS!!!! UP YOURS VAUXHALL RIP-OFF BARSTARDS!!!
This bloody car is crap only 4 years old made of woolworths parts loads of
components have failed potential costing hundreds of pounds to fix, I'm
gonna dump it and get something japanese. Anyone wanna buy a shite car
that drives like a fridge?

I bow to your superior wisdom, honorable san. Don't tell me... gearbox?
linkage? electrics? Yeah, alright, I may have gone a bit far saying buy
jap. I had a supra twin turbo in another life, nearly bankrupted me when
the turbos went. DON'T ASK how I ended up with a 1 litre corsa ;-)
shit things have been going downhill

Dealers are always expensive for parts like that, jap parts are meant to be more.
Thing is with vaux's though, they are 2 a penny in scrappies.

If you get an expensive fast car and drive it like it should be drivin ur service would cost a lot more than what those parts have cost you. That y people with porche's, lotus's, ferrari's drive like grandads 1. They are usually under finance 2. Parts are a lot more expensive including services.
Once a person drives fast cars like they are supposed to be driven they get the bill for the service and never drive like it again.

and yer i agree with matt-jonesuk the fast ur car is the more expencive it will be for everything. but when u have the need for speed who gives a sh*t

True wot u say abuot servicing and stuff on Porsches mate, MY Dad has one, he's frightened to give it a proper ragging cos if he damages anything it will cost ALOT of money to be repaired.
Although i do think cars like Porsche's can handle a ragging. A yearly service is £400. Vauxhall charge £100 so i wouldn't moan abuot Vauxhall.

of german parts... there ain't much engleesh in it, ya no? They fired all
the poor bloody english workers years ago since thather smashed the unions

You buy a fast car it will sting u on insurance, parts, servicing, price, body work repairs would cost more on a ferrari than a vauxhall even a scratch would cost a lot more just because of the type of car. Fact is if u got a 1.0 its not gonna be gr8 to drive compared to the supra u once had.

what did u do to it to need a new ecu?

Har har, it was fitted with a faulty ECU in the factory. This particular
gem is actually documented in the TIS, if your idle control motor breaks
they check your ECU manuf. date, if it's before 7/99 then they fit a new
ECU, modified conn. cable and modified idle control motor. So it was shipped
with a faulty ECU that caused the idle cont to blow up. Don't believe me?
Get on ebay and buy a copy of TIS, two CD's usually sold for a couple of
quid, when you get it go into "field problem determination" for "engine aggregates" and look for the fault description for "high voltage from
idle control motor". I can give you an exact reference if you want.
Of course it's out of warranty - 4 years old. What a fucker. I think a
lot of these cars have this time-bomb ticking away. Of course they never
recalled the car to fit new ECU although they clearly knew all about it as
it's fully documented in the TIS!!!!!
I've said it before, and I'll say it again: I'll NEVER buy another fucking vauxhall!!!

The worst thing isn't so much the fact that it was shipped with a fault,
lots of cars have that; it's the absolutely extortionate price of the parts
to fix it, and the fact that the manufacturer knew about the fault all
along and it was documented in their online service manual!
