The fan has gone on my card, causing it to pretty much stop working over the last coupla weeks! Any reccomendations for semi decent ones? Nothing above £60, i dont play many games at all, mainly for normal computer use, and it def needs a TV out cos i watch a lot of videos. GFX cards arent my strong point in computer knowledge! Cheers if u can help

8x is pretty new though, i only bought my mobo about 4 months ago. Its the Asus A7V 333. Would you not reccommend the radeon 8500LE? As thats what the buggered card is.

Nope i dont like it, benchmark tests for it with a high spec machine were poo.

If u notice 8x cards have like replaced nearly everything think everything in the geforce FX range is 8x

Give the Gainward Fx5200 PCI 64mb DDR a shot. Only about £60 notes i think.

give me a 5600/5800 or 5900 fx any day, them 5200's just aint worth the core speed they run at. no offence like tho, good card just not going to last well for the future.

radions are overpriced, the 9800 is probly best value for money but still over a few ton.

this is all bollocks. It may say its bandwidth is AGP 8x, but it still works on all notherboards which are AGP 2x/4x. It is all backwards compatible, and you would have no trouble running an AGP8x card on your system. Just remember that it wont be able to run to its full use. I have an AGP8x card in my machine which is only AGP4x. I highly reccomend it, its dirt cheap and still mega quick. Creative Nvidia Geforce 4 Ti4800.
