Upon start up my car ticks when cold, which i know is the hydraulic tappets, but the 'ticks' REALLY loudly when you press the accelerator, all the time! Manifolds not cracked, and got told it was my manifold doughnut gasket from the manifold to the down pipe?
Any ideas? Its a 1.4 SRi 8v Corsa B

If it still ticks all the time even when warm then your tappets need replacing m8, but b4 you do give your engine a complete oil change includin a full oil flush, see if that cures it.

wont be ur tappets, just because their named that dosent mean when ur engine taps its them
its probley the hyrdolic lifters are worn, about £14 per 1 x 16 for each of the valves + fitting = not cheep

16 hydrolic lifters for 120, thats good, whats quality like?
the cost i said is from vaux
