Your ping is massive. I'd ring your provider, they might have some issues in your area. Most have a free phone status line.

<50 miles is the distance to the server you did the test from (which is in maidenhead, as i see, so are you)
the exchange is your phone exchange, which is HERE
what package are you on? might be worth a phone call to your provider as allan said

Months I'd be leaving them. They are barely providing a service you no doubt signed up for.

Everyone is slagging off Easynet, but no one has actually stated any other reasons for his slow broadband:
- crap wiring on his BT socket
- malware etc. making his computer really slow on the Internet
Probably best off phoning Easynet who should talk you through checking a few things.

Wow, that is pretty bad Jambo. But as said, have you checked to see if its anything on your PC, have you changed the filter going into the phone line?viruses? bt socket? we only have 2mb now but it's just over 2mb and I'm hundreds of miles from the recomended exxchange, and thats with gay-o-l

My parents and me run a business from home, we have 5 pcs and a server all linked on a LAN. All wiring is fine to my knowledge, they wouldnt have skimped on it.
We have a support company that looks after the stuff but obviously every callout is £££. Having a new soho box installed
Aparently i had a torjan and a spyware thingy that may be slowing things down. I run Ccleaner and delete all my internet files etc etc on a regular basis, i have Sophus on my PC but think ive missed a sweep or two.
The guy who came out today to fix is coming back to fix it aparently
Dunno whats up with it

Malware = viruses, spyware etc.
Not sure how good Sophos is but I'm pretty sure there is better out there, e.g. Kaspersky if you want a security suite.
That's 0.2 mega bits though, so not even 0.2 of a megabyte. No providers list their speeds as megabytes though, it's a common misconception.
Check it over with the Kaspersky online scanner

Soho just means Small Office/Home Office, and by box i'm assuming it's a new ADSL router - although i doubt the router is Fubar'd, it's most likely a fault with the line and/or exchange.
As long as you've checked your end (wiring, microfilters, router) then call Easynet (owned by Sky) to do a line check and see if they can sort.

The reason we were getting a new soho box wasnt related to the internet speed. Something to do with how many lines we can run through it at one time etc

Guessing you don't the actual hardware they're installing? Could be anything Sounds like it' probably a new router allowing for Load Balancing - ie: multiple internet connections, data is balanced between these. Although it could also be something as simple as a new switch......
Does the support comapny deal with your Easynet connection?

Right IT guys came over and had a look found some malware on all 5 PCs even though i clean mine with Ccleaner and delete all temp files every week or so!!
Deleted all of that cleaned it all up and this is the result:
Fuck all basically no notciable difference in connection speeds

I use Spybot and Avira AntiVir (both are free).
The AV is usually updated daily and Spybot needs updating weekly, they are nice little programmes which have stood me in good stead for many years now.
By all means keep CC Cleaner, and ive never used (or heard of) Sophos before.
Your connection is seriously FUBAR'd though, definetly get on the blower to EasyNet about that

Like i said before, it's mostly likely a problem with your connection/phone line, so you need to contact Easynet....
