Ive only had this corsa a couple of months but ever since ive had it there's been a rattle coming form the engine mainly when I pull off from standing.
Ive just had my bodykit fitted so this rattle is really letting the side down
Is there anything thats proan to working loose in the engine?
The car drives fine so I wouldnt imagine its anything major.
Any ideas would be great.

there are a few heat shields, they are above the exhaust silencers, the main one that is a bugger is the down pipes, they are wrapped in a metal heat shield and its welded on, when this rusts loose metal and that gets between the shield and downpipes and rattles, you have to smash the thing off

nah the heat shields are bolted on, its just the one on the down pipes, get the hacksaw out and cut it off, also check the heat shield on the manifold

So are these heatshields not needed then?? Can I just cut them off and have none?
I must have to replace them with another one...

Check your air filter if you have an after market one and check that it fits tight and does not have a chance to rattle off any metal. Mine used to rattle off bodywork when i pulled away from standstill

Ive just checked & it actually does when I just rev it! Thought it was only when pulling off but its not.
Its get louder when you let off the revs...

No cos they wouldnt replace the downpipes jus connect to them, you need an after market manifold, get a janspeed one

do you need the heatshield right at the front of your engine bay? cos mine is rattlin and could easily be pulled off.

there is one bolted to the manifold, i took mine off months and months ago but getting a viper so heat build p under the bonnet aint really a concern, its the heat shield welded to the down pipes that cause the problem mine does it sounds terrible, gonna rip it off when the engine re-build is complete
