its definately a 1.2 8v ls wiv a carb and an airbox so wot the f**k u on about! im gonna try fittin the k n N 2day, ill tel yas wot sort of difference it makes! that pipe of the side of the air box(little red 1) goes to the box ontop of the carb on mine!

think some 1.2 had carbs.
just take the warm air pipe from the exhaust manifold off. and screw a small self tapper in the red pipe.

the red pipe dusnt go to the exhaust manifold, it gest from the side of the air box to the box ontop of the carb???? i jus took the top off the air box, pand put the k n N in the air box! louder and no los of power frm wot i can tell!

i dont think you mean carb or it would have a round filter sitting directly on top of it, you must mean throttle body that has a tube coming off the covver which the airbox/induction kit goes on.

yeh itz a panel filter, and ther is a box directly above the carb

Well why is this thread entitled "1.2 8v induction peeps", coz thats wot everyone has responded to.
If your car is a 1.2 8v Carb, the air box will be on top of the engine in a big round shaped box.
These are usually changed for a "bolt on" filter, not a panel filter.

PS: according to Haynes, 1.2 8v corsas were NEVER released with a carb engine. I beliebe this may have had an engine transplant, coz official, UK corsas only ever left the factory with a c12nz or 12nz. (both SPi fuel injection units)

I think your gettin muddled matey, all 8v corsa's have an throttle body at the top of the engine, ie a black box, but any car with a carb will usually have a filter like this
where as the majority of corsas(in fact all corsas i know)have induction kits like this
well just an example of a fuel injection filter.
what dows yours look like?

The picture you have supplied there is of a fuel injected spi c12nz engine. The same that came in every 1.2 8v. NOT A CARB.
You cant have fuel injection AND a carb.
All u've done is put a replacement panel filter on the the black air box which is normally situated where the cone filter is on the one above.

You dont have a carb, that black thing in the centre is just the throttle body plenum. it is a spi engine. its just a regular 1.2 8v, slightly different to mine as i think i havve mpi but aint too sure on how to find out.

You find out by the fact that they never made a 1.2 8v MPi. All c12nz's were Single point injection.

ok, well that sorts that out then. i have a slightly different engine to the one posted earlier, it had a larger plenum with two air intake hoses coming out and going into one, it also doesnt have a rotor arm it has a box that has the HT leads coming out of it. is mine an updated version?

yep - vaux redesigned the engine in 95 (i think) to reduce emisions, engine noise + efficiency with ever so slight modification. Same power tho, and i dont think the update actually made much of a difference.
