I believe my fuel pump is buggered. That's what the AA reckon anyway...

what sort of price am i looking @ for this ?

I was hoping £50 tops...

....

(they came round to look at it, becuase it wouldn't start, he looked @ everything i thought he would, and decided the pump wasn't priming when the key was turned, hence his decision...)

£20 odd from a scrap yard. Could be the fuel pump relay, but I guess that would be the first things the AA man would check.

its out of a 1.4 SPi, but from what I've been told it should be ok for a 1.4 MPi

All MPI pumps are pretty much the same, the spi ones aren't. My Spi one clicked off at 33psi, the xe's run at 45psi.

I think motor factor fuel pumps are about £120 new. Vaux probably closer to £200 knowing them. Get one from a scrappy.

u will not need it
a 2lt 16v needs a MPi pump
1.4 16v is fine
and i do not think u can get another pump and more powerful other that a outter tank pump.
