there is also a small metal clip on the back of the speedo, you need to push it down to un-hook the cable - careful though, it snaps quiteeasily!

ok open the bonnet & look at the gearbox, there is a cable coming from it (not clutch cable), follow it to the grommet & then push it through as much as you can

the speedo cable is kinda bolted into place, its a plastic surround where it goes in the box

nope none of them!

lookin behind the engine, look for something like these

the speedo cable is the upper one out of the 2 which are going through the bulkhead (its a dirty white)

if you cant find it, look for this plug on the gearbox

thats the speedo cable also, just follow it round the back of the engine & you will get there, just push the excess through the bulkhead like

its a c*nt to discconnect it from the engine bay...

wat i did was removed the egr motor thing which is infront of the battery (held in by 2 bolts to improve access) and put my hand thru the gap and unscrewed the speedo cable (look at the pic above!)

its hard to do coz u cant see wat ur doin at all! u av to use ur hand and feel for it! lol and its a tight squeez for ur arm down the gap.

agood tip is to rap sum tape arround the end of the cabel before u undo it, so that it is easier to get hold of once u go to screw it back in.

also its a right c*nt to screw in iv done it twice and both times it took me about 30mins to fuckin do it! lol its just so fidderly, and u dont want to cross thread it!

hope that helps,

there is no need to disconnect it from the gearbox though, there should be enough slack to push through to get room to undo the clip behind the dials!
