Why we are on the subject of DIY painting, what exactly is the correct proccedure? I mean I have read so many posts about this, but everyone comes out with very different advice. Different grit, different drying techniques etc etc. I've done interior spaying before but not exterior plastic.

I leave mine for 24hours, but in the past about an hour and it was fine. My arches were done in a weekend.

just make sure everything is smoothed nicely, preperation is everything.
use 800/1200 wet n dry to smooth the primer before putting on any paint.

And what about smoothing plastic, if needed, what grit is ideal for that?
