would it fit? and are the heads different?
wanna do something to performance but wanna avoid engine transplants if possible.
just stripped my engine down and put it together and 8valves are a doddle
can do most the work myself if i keep it 8v

same block so can straight swap, but then fuelling will be a bit different. so better to use the ecu from the 1.6.
fitting the 1.6 head to the 1.4 block will reduce performance. But does fit

Basically ive just paid my car off and need to do something to my car!
aint really into bodykits, neons, 17's etc,
would rather strip it out and spend money on performance etc
there is the c20xe but its nice to be different! and the 8valves are easy to work on and less to go wrong
was just looking at my options and my plan is to get the gsi/gte head and block, ecu etc and put that on my car
should be a fairly simple job and i would have thought the they would be a direct swap as the 1400 16v and 1600 16v heads/blocks are interchangeable?
anyone ?

I went to a Rolling road session about 6 months ago, there was a 1.6 Gsi Nova and mine(1.4 8v SRi Corsa) there with bonnets up, I had a quick look around and they both looked near identical, the best thing to do is find someone with a Gsi and stand the two cars side by side, the C14SE went in the Nova aswell, so I cant see them been too different, best to check first tho!

IF you swap the head and block, you can't keep the con-rods. Yes you can put the 1.6 8v in the corsa but you'll need the loom and ecu for that engine too.
