guys i've got my corsa c in bits at the mo and while its in pieces i quite fancy painting the center console silver like on the sxi's.
what do i need to do? plastic primer and then colour on top? then lacquer?
any help much appreciated ecpecially from any1 thats done this already...

Yeah but thats's gonna be on show so you are wanting something that looks good. Practice on something which is out of sight more until you are good at it.
Following the instructions in only 25% of doing it right, its all prep/time/skill to get a good finish.

ok cheers mike. i've done a bit of sprayin with cans before and got quite good at it but aint done any for a while. never sprayed plastic tho. got a mate with a proper spray gun and compressor so mite try get him to spray it with that cos will look better...... 
was just wonderin if i had to use plastic primer and then put colour and lacquer on top of that?

plastic primer then top coat then laquer if its a matalic.

I wouldnt recommed this if u havnt painted before, go buy a plastic wheel arch, sand it smooth and spray it up, if it looks good then do your interior!

says on the tutorial to use high build primer and not plastic primer? 
which one do you think is best neil cos u've done a real nice job on yours.....
just dont want it to be looking shit and cracking or peeling after a few months

the one thing you will need to be extra careful about is making sure you get off ALL of the back to black style spray cleaners you have ever used else the paint will quickly begin to peel off.
Lots of work with white spirit etc.. will be needed

ah yeh nice one. i used a turtlewax pad thingy on my dash like a month ago so better get scrubbin with some white spirit! cheers mate

I know its a B but same way of doing it plastic primer after lots of sanding so its smooth, smooth it after primer then paint, again make sure it's smooth then laqure.

you guys just done urs with cans or with a gun?
ur jobs stood up to wear and tear well? both the pics you guys have posted look well good. if mine comes out lookin as good as them then i'll be more than happy

done mine before x-mas n all i have on mine is a scratch on the drivers handle, as my key scrapped the laquare off a bit!
done it with cans, easier imo, coz ur not really spraying anything really big!!
