Author tell me this - irratic revs on a c16xe

if a c16xe engine revs drop a litlle say to 800prm then it either revs upto 3k then down to 1k and idle
or
cuts out

is this what i think it is?

twas what i was thinking

u can get carbon cleaner that you spray into the inlet? i may try this first

maybe also caused by a dodgy coolant temp sensor

It will be the ICV. Cost about £65 new I think from vauxhall. Be less from www.autovaux.co.uk

Take it out and clean it.

£22 or £4 u can guess what i bought

ill take it out give it a clean and the inlet while im at it

its only done it 3 times and only stalled twice so it isnt too bad atm

as for the coolent temp sensor? i may have a spare somwhere ill change it see if it helps any

I cant see why the coolent temp sensor would do this. You'd get other symptoms first.

the gauge works fine ans the fan cuts in etc
