Bought this kit from halfords for repairing stone chips and scratches... firstly, do I really have to leave the primer to harden for 24hrs like it says? Secondly, I have one or two scratches which are through the laquer and paint but not rite down to the metal, how do I go about repairing these with this little kit? Any suggestions or advice would be great

Not sure how good a little kit from halfords will be for deep scratches. Try something like autoglym super resin polish, and paint restorer

I got one of those kits from halfords for doin a small scrape on my dad's car, I wouldnt buy one again, for one thing, the tools they give you are crap. Best off gettin a fine, soft brush from Hobbycraft or suchlike, you might have a better chance then...
As for leavin the primer 24hrs, I wouldnt have thought itd be completely necessary, but you'll prob get a better result in the end if you do leave it to harden off properly rather than rush it.

NOO! halfords 3piece chipkit is shite!!!
i used it on my caribic blue corsa over 2 years ago...it messed it up!
it had loads of stone chips on the front of the bonnet and basically the tools u get with the kit are really crap u cant blend or smooth in the paint and leves it lumpy looking!!! and now its starting to peel/crack of and some of the lacquer bits are going smokey/grey!

The mer one that was on qvc looked really good. It could hav just been set up to look like that of course but if it wasn't it would be worth a try.
