As the title says some dickhead keyed my car tonite. The car was in my own driveway at the time.
I live in a really quiet street so it really annoys me off that someone would come into my drive and scratch my car for no reason!

Scratch is a sharp line about 8 - 10 inches long under my drivers side rear window. Dunno how deep coz I've never had a scratch on my car before to compair it to. But it stands out white as soon as u look at the car

I've only seen it in the dark so I'll have a proper look tomorrow in the daylight.

My car is Arden blue (metalic) so whats the best way to repair it?
Polish? T-cut? Re-spray!!?

Any help would be really great.

dont laugh but u can use a crayon to cover the scratch. find the right colour and rub it on vertically to the scratch until the scratch is fully covered. then wipe off access and polish over. t-cut have a chip stick which is a crayon anyway. they r both made of wax except the crayon is cheaper and does exactly the same job.

i tried that way but my scratch wasnt deep enough

stil showin up coz my color is dark

yeah it worked on my deep scratches but on the shallow 1's i had to use that colour t-cut a couple of times to hide it.

try using g10 rubbing compound.
if its white then chances are its gone down to the primer

Theres a good Mer scratch remover kit with video available from QVC (www.qvcuk.com) They demonstrated it and it looks pretty good.

If you can feel the scratch with your nail then it will need to be re-painted, however if you cannot then the scratch will polish out. As said before use the Mer kit, it comes with everything you need and video detailing exactly what to do. Costs about £20(Halfords).

Beatsri, yeah I can feel it with my nail

Was hoping it wouldn't need resprayed coz metalic doesn't finish well does it?
But if it comes down to it then I'll just have to get it done.
I'm gonna try all the other methods first tho, see how that goes.

CAUTION
Remember, if you try the crayon then decicde to try QVC or Halfords paint based kits you MUST clean the area very thouroughly before touching it with paint otherwise the paint won't stick.
If its showing white it is through to the primer so T Cut, G10 etc won't help. Colour must be added by way of the crayon or paint.
Personnally never tried (or thought) of the crayon. I must try it sometime - Thanks

a good body shop can carry out a "blow in" if donr right its a great job but make sure u go to a good bodyshop...

It sickens me to hear storys like this. I suppose ur only consolidation can come from knowin that the w@nker that did it has so little to be proud of in his life that he's left to take it out on some1 else. Totally pointless reason for it to happen aswell why do people do it for?

I dare say in the light its gonna look even worse, and its almost certainly gonna need a spray over the effected areas.

CS time machine in action again! This happened way over a year ago now!
Got it sorted, an excellent bodyshop sprayed the whole side of the car to blend it in, got rid of a few other small marks too. Can't even tell it was ever done!

tried this on a few of my deeper scratches but never worked at all.............

some dick keyed my car last week, im getting it sorted when i goes in for colour coding ect.

but goit some seperate quotes, and was like 150-300, for a scratch from B pillor to tailgate
