My car eats bearings every couple of months, my alloys are proper offset and its only on the rear this happens, fuckin annoyin as hell
Replacing them is dead easy, just takes time. As said before, buy a Haynes and do it yourself. Would be about 15-20 quid for new bearings, housings etc for both sides.

From memory all you need is an adjustable spanner, flat head punch - or bar of steel, and hammer. I think my rear bearings were £5 each including 2x races 2x bearings and grease sealing ring

£20??!! I was expecting a stupid figure.
If you're that hard-up for £20 you need to discuss it here I suggest a career change.

----> Yeah you need to lock em down hard and then undo the nut so that its just virtually finger tight so that the washer can just be slid around under the castle nut by a flat blade driver. I'd say your over tightening them unless they are proper cheese bearings! A set should last you 50k miles easily.... You stub axel still straight etc?
