Author clicking when changing gears

when i am changing gears it makes a clicking noise. It doesnt happen all the times it just every so often. what could the problem be how much to fix it?

anybody? it aint neccassaryly a clicking sound its just a wierd sound when i change gear sometimes deffo coming from near gearbox. only way i can describe the sound is like a stone bouncing up and hitting the underneath of the car.

Is this only while driving or can you do it while stationary?

as if it only does it when you are moving, chances are, it is a stone hitting the bottom of the car

could be a cv boot, they make a clicky noise when the come loose
or the gear linkage catching on something

its only when im driving but its inly doing it at certain points and it deffo aint stones hitting my car u can tell with the sound. It doesnt make a difference in the drivability or anything it doesnt affect the car jus makes a weird noise. It did it twice yesterday and once today.

Is there anything you can do to make it do it?

Could be an engine mount is loose and if you come off the gas funny the engine moves in the bay and distorts the linkage.

I'd whip the battery out and look for clean bits on or around the linkage myself.

there aint nothing i can do to make it do it. It hasnt done it today at all just happens every now and agen.

mine did this and was the bottom end tapping when changing gear

new engine i needed

i have most of a 1.2 8v im breaking
i also have a gear box
