rite my cars engine managment light just came on when i pulled up to a junction and the revs were reving between 1200 and 1400 up and down! wats goin on help me plz!

if it was before 97 i would have said do the paper clip test but it wont work on your car...

i know i was going to go just a minute ago. i said to myself if it plays up then i'll go. the light did come on once but i didn't go looked proper busy! and it's my b-day aswell 19.
ive read the some post in a search and loads of peps ave had this problem think it was called a idle control vale/ air flow meter. anyway fcukin cars
