Matey...i dont have any rasp whatsoever! Its just a deep deadening sound which gets annoying on the motorway.
I have a scorpion back box, straight through pipe to the cat. I didnt remove the cat because of MOT. Tobe honest i think scorpion do a good enuff job deading out alot of the sound/rasp.
So id suggest personally from my experience to leave cat in place then put a pipe down to the back box. Keep the cat where it is.

2 1/4" is the standard bore for a turbo, not sure what exactly what the bore is for the XE, but its no more than 2".

thats exactly how i wanted it mate and thought it would sound like that nice and deep through out!
but all i got was a high pitch screech/rasp!!
hmmm.. i basically have exactly what you have but the cat out too...and i thought it was the "middle-silencer" that causes the rasp/screech and not the cat???
oh so whats the standard exhaust bore size for a 1.6 corsa??

oh so the 1.6 bore size is slightly under 2inches
im going to go to powerflow st Albans, its bit far from me though! the kingsbury branch is much closer, is that one any good??
im only going to get a new middle silencer put in, a smaller one too so the sound will increase, so i dont know if its worth travelling all the way to st Albans to get it done!

Bought a longlife system second hand cupl days ago for 20 note. Stainless steel backbox (deep roar) with a de-cat straight through pipe.. Was a center exit but decided it would be too much hassle so me and my m8 changed it to a side exit we tried it without a cat was very loud and very raspy but now i've put the cat back on (so its all leagle so no trouble) and the rasp has gone such a sweet sweet noise coming out of my ass now

Whats the going rate for a powerflow system (1.2i 8v) these days?
Not sure what backbox, I'd prefer just a straight cat-back system from the manifold and then get a backbox welded on later.
