ive got a slow pc

petium3 700mhz 512mb ram with windows ME!!!

and internet explorer 6 is soooo unstable! somtimes it just crashes, somtimes it crashes bad and says explorer is dameged and windows needs to be reinstalled!!!

this only started to happen in last 6 months! i regulary use Adware and scandisk on my pc and defrgmented it last week!

any ideas on what is wrong and what i could do???

can't tell you what the problem is but i can tell you this.Your PC is not slow,you can install WinXP or Win2000 and use Opera,i use it and i think it's much better than internet explorer.

well tell you the truth... i had windows 98se 700mhz with 128mb ram
then upgraded to win ME with 512mb ram, and i didnt really notice MUCH of a performance increase! especially with games!!

could it be the type of ram i used or windows ME thats been causing me all these problems???

I really can't help you there i'm not an expert.infact i'm just an amateur..but i know this(from what i've heard).WinXP and Win2000 are NT based and are better for surfing the internet...people usualy install ME for games.So u can install ME and XP/2000 and choose from a start menu...never had experience with IE6...i use Opera.And i don't think it's the RAM.

ME is the most unreliable piece of shit ever made - format the machine and go back to win98 - will be perfect for games and will hardly crash - and you won't have any of these problems... at all
