C20XE conversion with 500quid left to burn on tuning it
get much more from your money than TB's on the 1.4

2.0 conversion with a nice brake set up Better than tuning a 1.4 16v because with that sort of money your not going to get amazing results on a small capacity engine...

No, forget brakes, a better suspension set up is more important as you get enough power out of the ATE calipers

2Grand could buy 140BHP and at 100kgs lighter than a 20XE is similarly 'quick, but, it would be very noisey, TB;s are inherantly. Depends on track monster or Daily cruiser? I whimped out and dumped TB's car from daily rotor.

Think its 150bhp at the wheels in the book....
Think there is more to go wrong on a TB's engine, but it is fuel injection so they are still reliable as they manage to look after themselves. Obviously you would probably want to run different profile cams and a higher rev limit to get the most out of them, this would make the car a bit less usable as an every day car... Best weigh up the por's and cons...

hmmm yeh i think ill have to have a word or two with someone like Courteny Sport.... i quite fancy a 2L turbo... with a 4 Wheel Drive conversion... now that may be slightly over my £2k budget
Cheers Folks some food for thought
