just got home and the engine is making a funny sorta ticking noise!, its coming from the left side of the engine bay, sort of like that noise you get when your batterys dead and the alternator clicks
any ideas please?

Had same noise, there was a tear in my timing belt, was due to be replaced anyway!!

check your oil first, may need some, if not check all ur belts etc

i had a ticking noise it ended up being the head light adjuster

yes ticking usually means low oil, most likely the end of it, keep your eyeon ur oil!!!! cam belt will be fine man no worriies

yes i would did it use all that oil in 4000miles? if so id check for a little leak maybe?

pretty much all of it yeah the dipstick was barely showing anything,although i do a lot of short trips in it and sometimes it doesnt get used for a week, i did check for leaks dont seem to be any
