if an x20XEV engine is running and you pull out the connector for the air flow meter should the engine cut out? if it is supposed to, what does it mean if it doesnt and keeps running?

never tried it myself but I'd imagine the ECU will come on and it will run poorly but it will run

Should still run, but poorly, the engine runs if the AFM is broke so i'm sure if you unplugged it the same should happem, the ECU light should come on though...

i remember on my c16xe i forgot to connect the cable but it ran fine...

could be different on that engine though....

It should run fine as it will switch to a set map. It will probably just overfuel.

Its a common trick to disconnect the AFM on the let if you pop a boost hose off, so you can drive home.

i agree i done this at the weekend coz my afm knackered.now it just stalls whenever i come to stop!!new ones on its way!
