anyone got any ideas

I was drive at about 40 approaching a roundabout
dropped to 3rd and something popped in the engine bay
it cut the engine out and now it wont start

no life only electrics?

anyone?

whats not working....

Is it turning over?
Are you getting a spark?
Are you getting fuel?

Does is start then imediatly die?

no idea.... but by your description it sounds like something has just popped off

Doesnt sound like its mechanical or anything, just a pesky wee prob.

Check connections etc

dont think the corsa would cut out unless the altenator was deeed...

I drove mine to a garage without a battery once just prayed it didnt stall

cambelt might have snapped, sounds exactly the same what happened to me. but i got 1.6 16v in now so dont care

ok, ive towed the bitch home
ive recharged the battery as it had almost died due to the lights being on.

i turn the key, starter moter engages but doesnt seem to turn the flywheel of what evert it turns or does? any idea

Put a big spanner on the pully's of the timing (cam) belt and see if she'll turn over that way... sounds like an engine locked solid to me...

why would it be locked?

the light came on a few weeks back and i topped her up with oil

but................... this could still happen?

Get the cam belt cover off and see if it's still on there. then see if you can crank it over by hand. althought it the starter motor can't. But check timing belt first.
