For what OS? Windows XP shouldn't require drivers for a DVD-ROM drive (it appears you're using XP from the info your web-browser is providing us)...

lol have u got 2 drives in the computer ie; this drive and a cd-rom or cd-writer - if you have you probably haven't set the jumper's correctly - as i'm assuming is hasn't found it in my computer or device manager - if so set 1 drive too master and one to slave - sorted dvd drives dont need drivers

Serveral questions when did you buy the pc?

Sounds like the drive is faulty/dying.
Windows XP always shows DVD drives as CD Drive under Type on My Computer.

But DVDs still work fine.
D: is a real DVD drive, and F: is a virtual DVD drive.

I assume D is your DVD drive?
If it's telling you to insert the CD a lot, and refusing to work, then I'm afraid it seems like it's on it's way out. Luckily, DVD drives are dirt cheap nowadays.
