Anyone out there ever bought performance head gaskets?
Are they worth the extra money?
Are they any better?
Any input appreciated

dont bother getting one total waste of money!
theres no need unless u raise the compression, a standard one will be fine.
was speaking with a bloke that runs a nova with an x14xe in it on tb's putting out 200bh. even that uses standard one.
how much is a "performance" one anyway?

Checkin it out yesterday and their about £55-60, dont really know how much the standard one is?
If the performance one is only a little more il get it to be safe.

wouldnt that mean that by rights they should never split between cylinders etc making the chances of a blown headgasket in the future basically 0%?

It does sound good but they cost £100+
And some people have problems with oil leaks because the harder gasket doesnt mate with surfaces as well as normal ones.

not sure mate. theyre 95 quid. so if u can use them over and over again if u need to it pays for itself. same with the head stud kits

If you replace the std one headgasket with an uprated one then you are removing the inherant safety of having the head gasket (£16) go before anything more expensive does like a piston which can write off the block too.
