hi, i'm on trying to get an x14xe engine running on jenvey tb's. we had it on the laptop playing with fuel maps etc while it was running for an hour or so when it started running badly. we found that the back of the coil had burst and leaking some brown stuff. we replaced it with a brand new one and ran spot on for about a minute. then ran badly again. we let it cool and tried again. just turning the engine for 5 seconds had the coil red hot. especially on 1 & 4 plugs. we also double checked it on another coil and the same happened.
the question is what's going on? when we didnt do anything on the laptop to affect it. we wondered if it would be a fault in the wiring harness, but why, when we ain't been touching it.
hope ya can help.

forgot to mention that we changed the plugs. but made no differance.
we did'nt make any massive changes to the new maps, just trying to iron out a flat spot.
the origanal map in the ecu was a 2.0l ecu. and it was struggling to idle as well as backfiring all the time
