hi i was thinking on making a parcel shelf a bit like the one in the pic. I am a good craftsman lol i was just wondering what wood to use i saw some1 say 18mm is this correct. also would it be suitable to remove the little clip things ( hinge kinda things) off the original and attatch to new shelf? also any pics of any1 elses attempts at custom parcel shelves.

Yeh 18mm MDF should do the trick for that, and if you could use the standard hinges etc would work perfectly.
