Well, when i start up my computer, it now wants me to click on the user before I get to my desk top.

I have no other 'users' on the computer. The computer use to just load straight to the desktop, now I have to click on my user name.. ghey.

I have dabbled with the 'change my account' in control panel but i cant seem to solve it.

Any help?

ps Im not using no passwords.

Mine used to do this, go into User Accounts in Control Panel and delete the administrator account and it should make your name the Admin. I think thats what i did anyway.

This has not worked. It now gives me the old style log on, but I just click 'ok' without entering a password.

if your logging in as Administrator, this is your problem

don't delete the Admin account, leave it be & password it!

make a new user, set as computer administrator & then log out & log in, you should notice Administrator is no longer listed, and its only the new account that is

but really... using the Administrator account with no password... you asking for trouble!!

This sounds so stupid, but why is this? Its just the home computer?

EDIT - Sorry, the Administrator Account does have a password.

The account I use is the Computer Admin Account.

Man I hate computers

there are still backdoors & such which can be used on the internet, file & print sharing isnt 100% secure either

and with home edition, its even less secure!
