i had the -40 gmax shocks and springs on for about 6 month, and although the car didnt get used much, the ride was a bit stiffer, but the cornering and the general handling was better

its now down 60mm on the gmax springs and shocks and its alot rougher, but handles really well, and i think it looks better

No, its saying that the bottom kit will be a 50mm front drop and 40mm rear, while the other above it will be 50mm all round.

Yea, I think its due to the GSi having lower suspension as standard. That is why they only lower 35mm, instead of 40mm. Try giving them a ring tomorrow, just to check if both sets will fit a 1.6 sport.
Good luck mate, and let us know!

o/e bilstein shoxs are not made by bilstein. they are just cheap branded shoot. pay a bit extra and get a decent set-up.

eibach springs are the daddies for everyday driving tho, i prefer driving my eibach equipped sport much more than the gsi on a daily basis.

(gsi is on bilstein tarmac rally set-up)

nah, they are only uprated 10% over standard (most o.e shocks are) so they are no better than budget shocks, well thats what they are really. Look at spax dampers they arent bad, about £50 each for the fronts.

look for some KYB ones as well, they do a 25% uprated damper for a decent price, not bad quality either.
