On some of the Cavalier V6s it had a 'red top' V6 (C25XE), then another one which looked the same but had a black rocker cover bit instead of red.

Then on the Vectra there is a totally different looking V6 (still 2.5), is this one known as the X25XE, or is it something else? And is the one with the black rocker cover that looks like the C25XE still the C25XE or is THAT the X25XE?

(and yes I'm aware of the 2.6 V6 and the 3.2 V6 engines but I'm talking about the ones in the Cavalier and the early Vectra Bs).

Vec B one is X25XE

Cav one is a C25XE with the red or black bit...

I thought the Vectra got a totally differant 2.5 V6 Sam?

its essentially the same, top end was different, and it was called the X25XE

the vectra 2.5 is very similar to the cav & calibra 2.5 it just has all the ecotec crap and restrictions on which makes it a bit lethargic!

They are rare now Marcus, bloody Corsa and Astra owners keep nicking the engines out of them!

Will probably look into a Vectra V6 if I can get one cheap enough without spaceship mileage, I'm fed up of 90bhp now!

Did consider getting a Calibra V6 at one point but can't unless I keep cracking my skull open going in and out of the damn thing!

I suppose if I could find a saloon Cav it would be good, I have a genuine GSi boot spoiler for one down stairs that I could use on it!

I'm looking to get a Vectra V6, Cavalier is too rare nowadays.
