i drive a 1.6 sport and mine seems to be alright on power and noise. I have got an extra air intake pipe so it's taking in cold air

If your going for an induction roar from your engine then get an induction kit rather than bodge drill an air box.

i got my airbox drilled n it sounds sweet its just wen u look at my zorst ppl think its gonna be monza but its just a pea shooter but do wot u want babe its ur car n ur money!!

But Makarus, surely you must know how hot vaux engines get under the bonnet? I had a 1.2 and my engine heat cooked the induction kit to death, and i had 2 cold feed pipes running from the front of the car. Its just not feasible to put an induction kit in a hot engine. uprated panel filter with drilled box will see just as good improvement and depending on the holes, you will get a lovely sound when accelerating. Maybe one of those piperX kits with carbon fibre shielding would work.

WE ALL SAY HOW THE IND KIT SUCKS IN HOT AIR WHICH IS TRUE BUT NOT SO MUCH ON A VAUXHALL CORSA CHECK OUT THE LOCATION OF THE FILTER ON A CORSA COMPARED TO THAT OF SAY A POLO OR SAXO, WHICH IS DIRECTLY ON TOP OF THE ENGINE NO MATTER HOW MUCH COLD FEED U PUT ON A SAXO IT WILL STILL SUCK HOT AIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BUT ON A CORSA JUST A SMALL HEAT SHIELD AND COLD FEED WILL DO WONDERS

im still stuck on wot to do, cos dont wana fuck up the ai rbox but ive seen filters on 1.0 and makes engine look so sparse and empty

I've got a K&N panel filter, drilled standard airbox and a Supersprint exhaust and drilling the box made no difference whatsoever to the sound of my car. I do notice it feels a touch more responsive though unless thats psychological.

Tests where done a while back with a 2ltr 16v engine using all types of air fitlers (induction, panel filter etc) and the best setup (biggest bhp/torque increase) was a drilled box with perforamnce panel filter.

Yes Corsa120, but polo and saxo engines dont run as hot as Corsa engines, well vauxhall engines in fact.

WAT dont matter how hot they get m8 my m8 has a saxo and i have a corsa if u drive my car and his car 10 miles then stop and both lift the bonnets ups one is not hot and 1 warm there both bloody hot!!!!!! so that crap for a start corsa engines may well run hotter but it have no affect on the airfilter suckin hot air in whether its 90degrees or 85 degrees both still run crap but the corsa's filter is still well away from the main source of heat for starters unlike the saxo
