With the 17s the gearing is all out.

By buying a Calibra you would need to strip everything off it yourself. It all depends who is doing the conversion.

yeh but how much will an engine (recon)cost do you know mate and is there much difference in that and a 2.0 red top

Red Top (XE) is 150/155bhp depending on age.

Turbo (LET) is 204bhp

An engine recon will cost as much as your willing to do on it, I'm sure someone else will be able to answer that for you.

have you just tryed servicing your engine maybe a little redex and engine flush or summin thats what i did with my saxo made all the difference!

i did 120 down a hil in my sport (private road) but when i try on flat it got to 110 and was stuck there, had revs left to go maybe 750 t 1000 left but wouldnt budge and my mate shot past me in his 1.4 8v spi

aint had a race in it yet coming from my 205 1.9 gti didnty really want power just looks this time round but will try that red ex thing heard that was good too

yep, mine stuck at 114 with 700 ish rpm left. if i did it on a long stretch of motor way i reckon it would have carried on.... tyres were only rated to 118 though, so not adviseable.

plus do you mean mpi 1.4 8v??? cos sure an spi would struggle to touch 100
