they are rubbish deals IMO, Dell are crap!

TBH I agree. I find Dell are overated and they are a pain in the ass to upgrade. They always have one/two components that just aint a regular size or are compatible with anything other than Dell systems.

I bet most could build a better PC for less or get a Compaq / HP/ PB etc..

i rather like dell, got my desktop from the 'Dell Outlet' store - supposedly a returned model from someone else and the spec I got was brilliant for the price......would definately buy from them again.

Really? Never noticed that on my olde machine. Used a standard AGP slot. The rest were standard PCI expansion slots. The HDD's were all standard IDE devices and the processor was nothing special either. The memory was all standard too. Never had an issues what so ever with buying upgrades for it.
