Hi,
Im going to buy a cat-back for my on going road rally/enduro car. Can anyone tell me which exhaust would be most sensible and which would have the best performance values out of the following...
This one has two silencers and a 2" bore...
http://www.rallydesign.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=1385_1401_1413&products_id=11067
This has a single silencer and a 2 1/4" bore...
http://www.rallydesign.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=1385_1401_1413&products_id=11071
Also, the standard system is 2" and I was told the 2 1/4" system would mate with the standard system, can anyone confirm this? Would it just slip over and fit with some sort of clamp? I also hope to team the cat back with a decat at some stage which come in either a 2" or 2 1/4" bore and a 4-2-1 which I assume is 2".
Thanks.

the 2.25" system will have a reducer built into it, much like the BFO system here -
so it fits to a standard 2" system.
the 2.25" system for your Rallye might be different though, especially as they offer 2 different de-cats.
personally, i'd go for the 2" system, especially on an engine running the standard injection system.
ring rallydesign and see if the 2.25" one fits with a standard cat etc, then ask the guys on the rallyeregister if a 2.25" system is better

I think you can get two different size decats anyway. The 2 1/4" system has a black tail aswell and on one site it claims these are purposely built for motorsport but when I rang up some chav company this woman was telling me ashley systems are only built for noise

get a twin box. I have never seen a quiet single box system, plus they are usually raspy

yeah, little metal things on them, at the bottom at an angle, so you cant catch the box on a rock

Well I ordered the twin box, was worried about the sound levels. Can always make a decat pay pass in time. Was cheaper than the other one also.
