It comes with a EGR blanking plate. Now, I've asked a few people and they say if you blank the EGR off, it will run the like a bag of shit, and fail the MOT on emissions. How true is this?

Can it be fitted with the EGR still in place?

I've searched, but no thread really covers these questions. Thankyou

i never understood whih was the egr. i blanked the port on the inlet manifold and passed mot fine.
whats the other canister thing and fits on the back of the lower inlets then?

Heres a pic of mine. If you look at the front of the box, there is a metal pipe that runs down the side of the engine. This is to link the EGR port with the inlet. They supply you with a EGR plate with a take off for this on it. That's how Mantzel reckon you should do it.

So can you get away with blanking it off without it failing a MOT or running shit?

mine was blanked when i had my velos on x16xe, ran fine and didnt fail mot
