Built my own pc 18 months ago:
rest of spec is:
xp - official
corsair ram PC3200 2 * 256mb
maxtor SATA HDD
AMD xp2800
powercolor ati radeon 9800 AIW
asus a7n8x-e deluxe motherboard
nec DVD writer
every so often the PC will freeze, hard drive will be making clunking noise then either reset itself or do remain frozen til i reset it, when it loads up it usually has either
lost/corrupt a system file (last night it was system32\config\default but have lost the system file before)
or
will just not load up and keeps resetting itself
any ideas what could be causing it? thinking knackered HD but skint at minute so don't really want buy new HD and that not be the cause.
the PC has last fourth months this time without an error but it crashed last night and had to go to repair console to copy over the repair files

I'm guessing you'd be wanting PowerMax v4.23, on that page...
