To AVI or MPEG....
I'm having trouble finding a decent tool to do the job. I have ImToo, but it's no good, it seems to cut out half the DVD for some reason. I have found some free stuff on the web, however, when you install them it turns out they aren't free
Any recomendations, I want to test out watching videos on my Zen...

DVD Shrink is what I use to create backup image (.iso) files.
You can strip the extras, alternative languages/subtitles etc etc to sace space if you like.
Handy program, very easy to use and very reliable, oh and it's entirelly free.

An ISO file is a removable media image rather and a file which will play in a media player. Basically, you need it to be an MPG or and AVI to be able to get playback from the file directly.
Basically, I have just set mine off using Auto GK, I expect it will take about 30 mins to do. Looking forward to seeing if it works

You can use the .ISO files in DVDShrink to play the movie (hit f11 to go full screen), or they just burn to DVDR straight through Nero (or other burners)

Ahead DVD ripper, with DivX codecs installed. Takes about 4 clicks from start to finish (apart from deselecting the titles you dont want) and works perfectly every time.
