Ok, this is my simple tutorial. I have done it in paint, i will be doing one soon for the lounge but untill then you will just have to make do.
You will need;
Masking tape (one width will be fine)
Canvas - i prefer deep boxed
brushes, water etc
First pick your colours, i usually have 4. Buy the tester pots, homebase ones are 90p each and theres plenty to do a large canvas.
Buy four within the same range, eg Dulux ones come in groups, vibrant etc. I prefer the mocha/brown/creams because thats the colour my house is.
Pick one colour, using a roller (if you already have one, not worth going out and buying one if u dont!) then roller your canvas with one colour - i use the lightest
Next, use your masking tape and section off random 'strips' using the tape. Dont worry if they look weird - thats fine. I never check if they are totally straight, but u cld use a ruler and mark off either end if u wanted to -
sorry for using white if u cant see it!
Next you pick a colour, and paint in between the masking tape
Leave for 2 hours to dry, remove tape. Its best to wait as emulsion has a tendency to peel off with the tape if its not totally dry.
Remove tape, and re do your random stripes in tape, paint between the lines
Remove again, re do stripes, and paint between lines
thats it!
Make sure every layer is dry before you remove/lay tape on top again to stop the paint from peeling. Total painting time isnt long, its just waiting for bits to dry etc
Its that easy... well i hope u all understand this

Ahh, I think I get it now!
Might have to try one of them some time
For my next one I'm gonna pop back to B&Q and get some of that flexible masking tape that can be used for curves so I can have curvy lines this time rather than just straight ones
