Hi all.
I have just fitted a Mantzel and having problems now. When starting the engine it revs up to about 4000rpm and then drops to a very lumpy 500/1500rpm idle.
Had a fault code 1120, seems as tho the TPS on my x14xe is playing up.
Has anyone else come accross this problem when installing a Mantzel? Any help of advise would be appreciated.
Rob

Have you checked the connections?
Made sure it's plugged in?
The mantzel shouldnt affect this. Possibly buggered.

If you have extended all the wiring is it done properly? Not mixed wires up?Also it could be a vacuum leak around the inlet itself.

update: just checked the resistance accross the terminals in the TPS and it appears to be working normally. Will check the wiring next.
Thanks

UPDATE:
When the map sensor is plugged in the engine idles around 3000rpm. when unplug the map from the vacuum it drops to a lumpy idle and eventually cuts out.
This says to me that it's not an air leak but possible a faulty sensor? I then connected a long hose the the map sensor and manually applied a vacuum and i could actually control a normal idle speed, unlike when it is plugged directly into the vacuum hose coming out of the mantzel.
Any thoughts suggestions appreciated.
Thanks

id get another map sensor and rule out a faulty one first.I got one a couple of months ago for 10 quid from a scrappy.Try this and report back mate.

cheers dude... will scrappy up on monday If it is the map sensor would this explain why me car always used to idle at 1200rpm in the past even when warm ? Possibly pushed it over the edge with the mantzel lol.

dunno really mate i had a very similar prob with a mantzel copy and i found that it was revving at 4k until i changed the map sensor. Also it had a small vacuum leak between the inlet mating faces which didnt help.Make sure all the sensors are plugged in and try resetting the ecu as this all did the trick for me.
