Going to give my car a basic service at some point this week as i have some free time. It had a lot of stuff done to it last time including new plugs and leads etc. so this time im just going to do a basic one.

I was going to do:
oil filter
oil
fuel filter

Anything else you would suggest?

Only other question is what oil would you recomend? I assume just halfrauds own brand oil will do as its not the most tecnical engine
10w/40 I think is what i used last time

also whats the timing belt renewal time on a 1997 1.2 8v engine? (NZ one i think)

buy a full service kit

oil
oil filter
fuel filter
sparkplugs
air filter
when i get mine usualy comes to around £25

as for oil 10/40 semi sythentic is spot on pal

should be 3 and a half ltrs

even if you dont fit the spark plugs because you have alrea\dy done them etc worth having them as spare anyway.

timing belt i would pull the cover off and take a look and see what kind of state it is in when i buy a new car i replace anyway as alot of ppl will lie about it being done.

hope this helps
