Basically I have a spoiler that is large and is stopping me from allowing my boot to open all the way or it will hit the roof and damage the paint, so i have put some rope to stop it opening any more than allowed this makes the struts 19" long so what im asking is anyone know what car would have struts this length or shorter so i can swap them over, i was thinking a nova?

basically, the boot only opens this far:

As you can see, the spoiler gets very close to the roof here:

So what I was told would work, would be shorter boot struts, to stop the boot opening further than it should. Ie: the current (standard boot struts) are 19inches in length now, as opposed to prob another 5inches if boot was able to open fully.

apparantly they are far more flimsy than boot lifters, so they wouldn't really support the weight of the boot (especially now seeing as it has smoothed recess and the spoiler on it!)

Rob, did you have to drill new holes to fit these? (corsa B?)
Also, would you be able to measure the full open length for us ?

Thanks.

Did the kids in nursery paint your car with poster paint? the amount of overspray is shocking.

I thought that tbh, btw Mark....nice to see you on the 'darkside'.

I got the same issue but you can buy uprated lifters on Ebay...the best ones I have found are 50 notes though.

inxx make some uprated boot lifters for a corsa, im sure you could email them seeing as they are the manufacturer/retailers of the gear. they must know what the open and closed lengths of most applications are
