I was told that unless you have an amp, it isn't worth upgradingas you won't get the max power from the head unit!

If you have an amp, go for it. As for recommendations, I have no idea!

well you'll want to spend around £30-£40 on sound deadening first.

then an amp, then some comps (infinities etc) plus all wiring and adaptors.

i've found amped 17cm comps aren't too great in corsa doors compared to small boxes. so i'd just stick with some good quality 13cm jobbies with sound deadened doors, sounds just as good

Ive got focal, but they are amped. I cant fault them, look at rainbow compnents too. As its already been said you will have to amp them to get the most out of them

17cm comps in the front doors are fine and sound 100% better if you deaden the doors

As for speakers have a look at the rainbow 265 deluxe's

you can run off the head unit but you wont get the best out of them

I'd recommend some DLS comps or Rainbows.

Plus by running them off an amp you can filter the audio going to the speaker, so if you are running a sub you can filter out some of the bass going to the speaker so that they won't flap.

You can on a good headunit too, and tbh if your going to the legnth of amp'ing up comps a good headunit should be in there!

when amping the front speakers, where have you put you amps? because in the boot means the cables go all the way up then all the way back

mines under the passengers seat, which seams like a fairly good place as your not using to much cable to get to the doors, and its not too far to run cables to the boot either if you fit a sub or some 6x9s at a later date
