One caliper will be pulling more than the other.
Could also be tracking.
Wait more than 24 minutes for a response

don't think it tracking cause i've had a 4 wheel alignment + tracking done not so long ago. it came up in m.o.t that one was braking better than the other...but what do i do to sort it out?

Get the brakes serviced. One might need bleeding or something. Best to take it to a garage - brakes aren't really something you want to skimp on!
